Details of expenses for the “UPARC in the Park” provided. Shared Field Day expenses to be collected from sister clubs by Jason (N4BOZ) and Jack(N4KIN). During our last board meeting the ARRL insurance policy was updated to cover new club equipment.
Treasurer’s report for the Month of June provided by Jeff (K4JJD) (see slide). Details of expenses provided (see slide).
Vice President’s report (Alan W4UB): Extended repeater hang-time seemed to be an issue this morning. HAMWAN is still having issues so a troubleshooting session with Tom (NY4I) needs to occur before any lockdown of the fire station occurs. The Echo-link set-up can move forward once HAMWAN is working. Impact of lockdown on the election of board members minimal since the process can be done remotely as before if required. Raspberry Pi offered as a solution by Jason (K4FLM) from East Lake Cert for the HAMWAN project. Tom (N4YI) communicated that all the needed parts are on-hand. Please use the repeater and as always volunteers for net control are needed. Review of slide for the club net provided participation totals for the month. Question raised on corrections to the Club net log. Records are checked by a board member for accuracy during the net.
President’s report (Jack N4KIN): Please check-in to the Tuesday night net even if just for a quick intro if you’re short on time. The next breakfast is on the 28th. 9AM at “Another Broken Egg”. Nominating committee process begins this month (See slide). Discussion should begin and if you want to be on the committee, please let Ron (W4RFA) or one of the officers know. Presenters for the monthly meeting are needed. Mike has submitted a suggestion for a presentation. UPARC in the park event mentioned as popular event. 2 new techs were tested this morning. Mike explains requirements for being tested in light of FCC requirements.
Question raised by Mike (K4HN) about remote control using a Rasberry Pi. Interface cost seen as a barrier. Tom (N4YI) suggests “Node Red” as a solution which he presented in a recent club meeting.
Raffle begins with Ron (W4RFA) selling tickets.
Tech Presentation: Jack (N4KIN) presents “Alan’s Amplifier Repair Shop”. Pictures provided by Alan (W4UB) for his efforts to restore the Heathkit SB-200. This amp could be used for the Special Event Station scheduled for October. A round of applause for Alan (W4UB) occurred. Discussion of storage opportunities for these club assets proceeds without final resolution.
Special Event Station plans for October 23rd and 24th announced for Honeymoon Is. Alan (W4UB) has a pass for the park entrance so he can assist. Park membership is available.
28 dollars collected for raffle tickets. Jason (K5FLM) uses winnings to pay for club membership.
