Repeater Status Page

March 24, 2020

We are working with local tower repair companies to schedule a climber, however have been impacted by the Corona Virus.

Alan W4UB visited the site and upon checking the antennas with an antenna analyzer, it shows a VSWR of 6.9:1. Alan double checked the hardline at the repeater end connector to no avail it appears we will be scheduling time with a tower climber to determine if we have a coax issue or antenna issue.

Dave Shuey WA3VRE did extensive bench testing of the Kenwood repeater and it is working fine. Debugging continues to the next pieces in the chain (duplexers, coax and antennas).

Lady Luck is not with us tonight…

Problems continue on the Yaesu repeater.

This likely means an issue with the hard-line or dipoles.

Either mean a climber on the tower and a large bill.

The temporary repeater was installed today.

The normal repeater will be benched for analysis.

The repeater team will continue to monitor.

W4AFC is back on the air at the moment for test purposes. A potential cold solder joint was re-flowed in the PA circuit. Feel free to use the repeater. Please report any issues such as a weak noisy signal or no signal.

The repeater is online, but operation is erratic.

Sometimes transmissions are normal, sometimes difficult to copy (low power output).

Hence, efforts to restore normal operation are ongoing.

Thanks to the repeater team for their continued efforts.

The team made adjustments to the repeater; so quality has improved.

There are noise and power level issue with the repeater.

First, visual checks show no visible damage.

Second, power output is good.

Third, SWR is good.

The repeater team is diagnosing the issue.
